CHARLOTTE AMALIE—November 16—Yacht Haven Grande, the Caribbean’s premier luxury mega yacht marina and “playground by the sea? has officially welcomed its first mega-yacht into port, a spectacular 192-foot Lurssen. The arrival marks the beginning of a new era in The Virgin Islands, with the revitalization of the former Yacht Haven property into today’s Yacht Haven Grande.
Yacht Haven Grande has been developed by Island Global Yachting, a subsidiary of Island Capital Group, a New York-based real estate merchant banking firm. Yacht Haven Grande is designed to appeal to the affluent consumer drawn to the boating lifestyle, and includes state of the art docking designed specifically for mega yachts as well as the optimal mix of amenities to accommodate the affluent consumer.
This incredible piece of property, located at Long Bay Harbor, comprises 13.8 acres of upland and 32.6 acres of marina offering amazing amenities ranging from fine dining to superlative shopping to state-of-the-art office space. Yacht Haven Grande will fill the current void between the adjacent cruise ship docks at the eastern end of the harbor and historic downtown Charlotte Amalie.
Yacht Haven Grande will change the face of St. Thomas not only because it will once again attract world-class yachts but it also will dramatically enhance the main cruise ship port which receives more than 2 million visitors annually.
The first retail locations at Yacht Haven Grande are scheduled to open the beginning of December. The property will feature four waterfront dining establishments—Wikked, Fat Turtle, Grand Cru, and Three60. In addition to the restaurants and retail, the property features 12 luxurious three-bedroom waterfront condominiums.
Yacht Haven Grande has recently made presentations at premier international boating events in Dubai, Monaco, Ft. Lauderdale and Fisher Island and is generating much excitement among the yacht owners and crew. The yachting facilities are unparalleled—in-slip high speed fueling, internet connectivity, in-slip used oil and waste removal, and extra-wide fixed docks which allow passengers to disembark comfortably from even the largest mega yachts.
