Marigot Marina Fort Louis has offered free docking for participating yachts on Friday afternoon and overnight during the upcoming regatta the third week-end of January 2007, regatta officials announced today.
Space for the classics will however be limited due to the high season and long term dock arrangements.

Until today some 15 classic yachts have already registered for the regatta while many others have shown huge interest in participating.
The organization's marketing director is still in the South of France at the moment promoting the event at Monaco and Les Voiles de St.Tropez.

The 150 berth Marina Fort Louis has recently been upgraded with a second "sea wall" in order to protect the docks and yachts better from the swells.
Visiting yachts are now barely moving in the marina, even when huge waves are visible outside Marigot.
The upcoming mega yacht season looks very promising according to Etienne Taquin, the "Capitaine du Port" with many dock spaces already reserved.

Marina Fort Louis has direct access to the sea, where yachts at Dutch side marinas like Ile De Sol or Princess Port De Plaisance need to deal with the Simpson Bay bridge.

The first yachts can be expected to arrive in Marigot during the first regatta leg on Friday January 19, 2007 as from mid day.A Friday Night party will be organized by the regatta organization at the Marina Fort Louis parking lot with a live band on stage, entertainment, food and drinks and a VIP tent for invited guests, yacht owners and press.

The classics will depart Marigot again on Saturday morning for the second leg to Philipsburg.

The regatta will finish Sunday in Simpson Bay.The St.Maarten-St.Martin Classic Yacht Regatta is organized by the St.Maarten-St.Martin Classic Yacht Regatta Foundation and West Indies Events.
