CROSSCURRENT UNVEILS U.23 CARBON ULTRA RIGID INFLATABLE

Purveyor of Luxury Marine Products and Services Launches Exclusive
New Tender and Support Vessel
Barrington, R.I. – CrossCurrent Marine, a leading global purveyor of luxury marine products and services, announced today the latest addition to its luxury watercraft offerings, the U.23 Carbon. Incorporating a hi-tech design and advanced composite structure, the U.23 is the market’s first rigid inflatable boat constructed of proprietary carbon and Kevlar® epoxy composite. Lightweight and ultra-durable, the U.23 Carbon is well equipped for coastal cruising or excursions in open water. The perfect platform for all types of nautical sports such as scuba diving, fishing, water skiing or wakeboarding, the U.23 is equally suited for relaxation in the sun while moored or at anchor.

Designed for the elite individuals seeking acquisitions of the highest caliber, the U.23 Carbon is the ultimate in luxury inflatables. Capable of achieving speeds of 45-knots, the U.23 maintains stability and a comfortable ride at high speeds under reasonable load and conditions. The craft’s teak deck offers spacious accommodations for sunning, sitting and entertaining. A two-seat driving console with integrated leaning post makes navigation comfortable and fatigue free. The rear seat lounge and leaning post quickly convert to a 3.9-feet wide sun bed, or bench and table for meals, while the front platform extension provides an even more spacious sunbathing area. A teak bow step with an integrated mooring cleat makes boarding and anchoring easy. The U.23 Carbon’s stunning epoxy hard-top arch design offers multiple benefits including sun protection for the captain, an overhead compartment for installing electronics, support for fishing and sun shade poles, mounting for audio speakers and nighttime deck lighting, and a robust mounting point for a wake boarding tow line. The deck of the U.23 slopes rearward for easy cleaning and self-bailing and a telescoping swim ladder is nested under the port platform.
“We are very pleased to add the U.23 Carbon to our exclusive selection of luxury products and services,” said Craig Crossley, president, CrossCurrent Marine. “This craft epitomizes luxury, performance and style. The U.23 Carbon’s innovative design and elite features, as well as its extensive custom options are sure to exceed the expectations of the most discerning boaters.”
The U.23 Carbon features a truly innovative hull design. Its large beam, particularly at the transom, creates a virtual extension in the crafts overall length, as well as increased maximum speed once on plane. The U.23’s relatively vertical bow, not only provides a sharp entry into the water, but also extends its maximum length. Two transverse steps across the bottom of the hull ventilate the wetted surface and reduce friction, improving fuel efficiencies while also allowing for extremely quick planing. All of the U.23’s internal surfaces are coated with EVA foam rubber to minimize vibrations and noise, while also providing cushioned storage. For added convenience, the craft’s driving console opens for easy access to the integrated icebox and tube inflator pump.
Designed to CE specifications, the U.23 is rated to carry a maximum of 5 people in wind conditions not exceeding 42 mph and waves up to 13-feet, and a maximum of 12 people in wind conditions not exceeding 28 mph and waves up to 6.5-feet. The U.23's Hypalon-Neopren tubes are ORCA 1600 DTEX quality, yielding long life and low maintenance. Ensuring design performance and comfort, the tubes measure 1.3- to 1.6-feet in diameter, and feature five independent chambers complete with over-pressure valves. The U.23 has an overall length of 22.6-feet, mean measuring 10.5-feet, and an inside width of 6.9-feet. The U.23 weighs 1,875-pounds without engine, is capable of supporting up to a 250 horsepower engine and can achieve performance speeds of 45-knots. The U.23 has a 52.8-gallon fuel capacity and carries 13.2-gallons of water. The U.23 Carbon is protected by a 5-year hull and tube warranty.
